James Willett has been shooting competitively for only 18 months.
But you wouldn’t know it, judging by the Corowa High School student’s remarkable run of success since joining the town’s clay target club.
Willett, 15, posted his best result on the National Clay Target Trap Championships at Wagga this month where he was one of three juniors representing NSW in a shoulderto-shoulder team.
The junior team won the event and was named the Australian junior down-the-line trap team for the year.
He then won the national double rise l00t championship with a 95/100 score.
He came runner-up in the junior national double rise l00t championship with 95/100 and third in the junior national champion of champions.
Willett was named the second best junior shooter in Australia ai the completion of the six-day competition.
